Camperfun Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2009 and 31-Dec-2010

These conditions are a part of the rental agreement and must be signed by the renter.

The renter is responsible for the entire camper and it’s condition with all it’s accessories and belongings for the entire rental period. This period starts at the moment of departure and ends at the return of the camper It is obligatory for the renter to inform camperfun of all damages and flaws when they occur. Withholding information can imply full deduction of the security deposit.

1. Cancellation

The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
a.The renter has to cancel by registered letter. The date of mail delivery is considered as the date of cancellation.
b.In case of a cancellation the renter owes:
- Until 73 days prior to start date of rental period:25% of the rent sum
- Until 45 days prior to start date of rental period:50% of the rent sum
- Until 6 days prior to start date of rental period:90% of the rent sum
- 3 days prior to start date of rental period:100% of the rent sum

c.Within reason Camperfun will attempt to rent out the camper for the same rental period or a part of it. If Camperfun succeeds the cancellation fee will be decreased proportional, deducted with the administrative expenses of € 50,- and the extra costs.
d.Early return of the rented camper will never lead to a (partial) restitution of the rent sum.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.

2. Obligations Camperfun
Camperfun is obligated to deliver the camper as follows:
a.On time and according to legal requirements (APK; General Periodical Inspection);
b.In good condition and complete with inventory and accessories;
c.With the required documents, such as insurance and registration;
d.With sufficient instructions;

3. Obligations renter
The renter is obligated:
a)To pay the rent sum or cancellation owed, even if the renter does not use the camper, or uses it for a shorter period of time;
b)To use the camper only for camping intentions, make no alterations to the camper;
c)To follow the instructions of Camperfun;
d)Not to lend or rent the camper to others;
e)To make sure that the camper will only be driven by the renter and the authorized second driver stated in the contract. The minimum age of both drivers is 25 years, the drivers must own a valid drivers license for three years or longer.
f)To have a “Travel and Credit document together with a camper-supplement” from the ANWB (Dutch Auto Mobile Organization) on the day of departure.

4.Shortcomings
a.If one party fails to meet his obligations, the other party reserves the right to cancel the contract completely or partially. This right is not applicable if the shortcoming is of a very extraordinary sort or of a very small extent. Furthermore compensation of damages can be claimed, unless the shortcoming cannot be held against the other party.
b.In case of complete or partial cancellation of the contract due to shortcoming of Camperfun, Camperfun will reimburse the complete or partial rent sum. If the shortcoming concerns a non delivery of a specific camper, Camperfun holds the right to provide a similar camper which at least meets the specifications of the original booked camper. Kind and color may differ.
c.If the renter returns the camper late, Camperfun is entitled to a compensation of € 230,- per overdue day or part of the overdue day. Also a 15% of the total rental sum as compensation and any other caused damages.
d.Additional kilometers, on top of the kilometers that were included in the rental contract and agreed upon beforehand, will be charged according to the kilometer price stated in the contract.
e.If the additional kilometers will add up to a 1000 kilometers or more, the renter must inform and pay Camperfun beforehand.

5. Costs
a.Costs that have a direct relationship with using the camper, for example: fuel, oil, tire, repairing or replacing , fines, legal costs etc. are the responsibility of the renter.
b.Necessary costs for normal maintenance and repairs are the responsibility of Camperfun.
c.In case of mechanical defects, repairs or damages the renter must always contact Camperfun by telephone. Costs for repairs that have been carried out without consulting Camperfun will never lead to reimbursement.
d.Repairs that have been carried out after approval of Camperfun will only be reimbursed if the renter provides Camperfun with the original, specified invoices together with the replaced broken part(s). Camperfun is discharged of any reimbursement if the invoices and/or replaced parts are not handed over. Reimbursement of invoices in foreign currencies will be done according to the exchange rate on the date of repair.
e.Repairs, the fixing of flaws or expanding the inventory by the renter, without approval of Camperfun, will never, in any case, result in any reimbursement or compensation.

6. Damages
a.In every case of loss, theft, seizure or damage the renter must always contact Camperfun by telephone as soon as possible. The renter must follow the instructions of Camperfun at all times.
b.The renter is responsible for the damage and the related transport and towing costs to a maximum of the damage weaver, unless the renter is not responsible.
c.In case the camper is seized by a (local) government because of (suspected) illegal activity by the renter(such as drug trafficking), the renter must completely compensate Camperfun for all damages suffered. This compensation can exceed the deposit. All costs, legal an non-legal, that have been made by Camperfun due to the seizure of the camper must be paid by the renter.
d.The damage waver amounts € 750,- per damage. And a € 1000,- per overhead damage. If necessary the damage waver will be deducted from the deposit.
e.Camperfun can never be held responsible for personal and/or material damage to the renter or his travel companions, caused by the use of the camper, a mechanical defect and/or a collision.
f.Camperfun is not required to account for the damage amount (After professional examination), Renter is allowed to do a contra- expertise, for his own cost.
g. It is not allowed to attach anything to the camper this also applies to adhesives and stickers, apart from compulsory adhesives on the inside of the windscreen from authorities.

7.Final
The booking is final after paying the required sum stated in the confirmation/invoice. Hereby the renter confirms that he has received and read the booking and general conditions of Camperfun and that he agrees to them.

8.Payment
De renter has to pay the complete rent sum or down payment stated in the invoice he has received. The payment must be done as follows:
a.Within 7 days after booking, the sum mentioned on the invoice including insurance and cancellation premiums must be paid to Camperfun.
b.The remainder of the rent sum including the € 1.000,- deposit must be paid ultimately six weeks before the start of the rental period.
c.The payable amounts on the invoice must be available to Camperfun on the mentioned dates.
d.If the renter is negligent in his payments Camperfun can decide to hand over the invoice to a credit collector. Any resulting costs (legal and/or non-legal and interest costs) must be paid by the renter. At all times Camperfun then holds the right to cancel the contract without any legal interference such as a judge.
e.If the start date of the rental period lies eight weeks or less in the future, the total rent sum including premiums and deposit mentioned on the invoice must be paid to Camperfun within 7 days after booking.

Deposit
For all campers the deposit is € 1000,-.
For groups below 30 years old the deposit is € 2000,- .
The deposit must be paid ultimately six weeks prior to the rental period by bank or in cash at departure. Camperfun will repay this sum between 3 and 6 weeks after retrurning the camper in case of damages or accidents this may take longer
We don’t accept any payment by creditcard, bankcard or traveller’s cheque.

9. General

a.Changes in the contract and/or general conditions are only valid if the renter and Camperfun have agreed to this in writing.
b.Renting a camper can only be done by the renter self.
c.The completed booking form, the signed contract and general conditions are considered to form a whole. Damages caused by incorrect reproduction of facts and/or matters must be compensated entirely by the renter.

10. Cancellation insurance
To cover the risk of cancellation the renter must make a contract for a cancellation insurance with Camperfun. Expedition of a claim will be done by the insurer. This does not dismiss the renter of his obligations stated in article 1 and 3. The cost of this insurance is 4% of the rental sum (incl. VAT) and € 6,- insurance policy costs.

11. Cleaning

a.The camper is delivered as follows:
- Outside clean
- Inside clean
- Fuel tank filled
- Clean fridge
- Watertank empty
- Dirty watertank empty
- Toilet empty
- Clean toiletarea
- Clean kitche

b.Smoking is NOT allowed in the camper and pets are also not allowed in the camper.
A € 500,- fine will be charged if these rules are violated.
c.The camper must be returned in the same state as it was delivered to the renter by Camperfun. If the camper is not delivered accordingly, the following cleaning costs apply:
- Dirty water tank not empty  € 30,00
- Toilettank not empty  € 90,00
- Outside dirty  € 60,00
- Toiletarea not clean  € 35,00
- Not removing toll road adhesives  € 15,00
- Inside dirty  € 60,00
- Kitchen dirty  € 15,00
- Fridge dirty  € 20,00
- Covers dirty  € 70,00
- Fuel tank not filled up  € 25,00 + costs diesel

There is always a € 25,- handling fee. Mentioned costs can accumulate.

d.Any missing items from the inventory when returning the camper, must be paid by the renter. The inventory will be checked based upon the inventory checklist that was signed at delivery.
e.If the deposit proves to be insufficient for the payment of damages, compensations or costs, the renter must immediately hand over the remaining amount.
f.Only written complaints will be handled

Drivers license

All motorhomes are suitable for normal drivers license unless mentioned differently e.g. camper sp2 and sp3.

All our motorhomes are all risk insured, with a € 750,- risk for the renter per claim.
Also our motorhomes are covered for Europe wide road side assistance.

Note: Road side assistance does not include replacing transport, please make sure your travel insurance covers this.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

The rental period of a weekend starts on Friday at 14:00 and ends on Monday at 12.00.

Airport Pick up and drop off Service
We will happily pick up our customers from / to Amsterdam International Airport which is close by our physical depot at additional charge. Please give us your flight details at time of booking if these are available.

City or Hotels Pick up & Drop Off
We provides pick up service everywhere within Holland at certain charge. We will arrange a location and times with you directly. At the time of reservation confirmation we will contact you directly to arrange specific details on the pick up location.  Alternately please contact us on the details provided above.

Making your own way to our depot

  • On the A4 take exit 3, Hoofddorp.
  • Follow direction Hoofddorp.
  • After passing the railroad tracks(above you) take a left (Crowne Plaza Hotel on your left) at the lights onto the "Van der Heuven Goedhartlaan".
  • Follow this road untill you cross the "Hoofdweg Oost" (police station on your right) turn left these lights and follow "Hoofdweg Oostzijde"

Camperfun Hoogeveen is closed on Sundays!

Picking up and dropping off your motorhome

High season:
Motorhome pickup: Friday or Saturday 16.00-18.00 hours.
Motorhome drop-off: Friday or Saturday 10.00-12.00 hours.

Outside high season
The rental period can start or end any working day of the week, the hours of pickup and drop-off remain the same.

Early and Late Returns

Early return of the rented camper will never lead to a (partial) restitution of the rent sum.

If the renter returns the camper late, Camperfun is entitled to a compensation of € 230,- per overdue day or part of the overdue day. Also a 15% of the total rental sum as compensation and any other caused damages.
